Man, if Apple one day released a Mac laptop with a Windows keyboard they'd
make a killing. But that'd be like admitting their OS is crap and they
would never give up control over the software side of things. But
seriously. Imagine a Win Book Pro. I'd so buy one and put windows on it.
Not having a
Why do you miss it? They've got a backspace key ... FWIW, I don't like
the mac KB either, but that's more a space / layout issue, and I use a BT
wireless natural KB with it.

Because sometimes that's just where your cursor is and you know there's a
key that does what you want but isn't available... unless you press
FN-BKSP. And FN-UP and FN-DOWN for page up, page down.

Aren’t there a half dozen laptops out there that have specs like a MBP that you
can run Windows? What’s so special about the MBP (assuming you don’t want to
run MacOSX)?

True, good point.
The touchpad on mbp is nice though. Only one that I've found usable.

How extensively do you use the touchpad? Wouldn’t an external mouse is more
ergonomic and gives you more fine grained control - especially at the high DPI
resolutions you’d be experiencing if you were running Windows? I’ve always
found trying to do anything in Visio, Powerpoint etc. is an
The MBP one is multitouch (aka like using a tablet) - certainly not all of
the others are.

I rarely use touchpad because of the reasons you put forward mostly the
difference in control. Was just making a comparison. Mbp is better than he
rest but I still prefer mouse, hands down. (Pun intended)
Let's not talk about high dpi for windows, we're not there yet. Improving
but still way to
Yep. It's common.
I tried the Vm via parallels but found performance issues when using
Rdp. So changed to using bootcamp which works way better. (If I want
Rdp with 4 screen support including 4K monitor I boot into windows not
OS X)

That said unless you need mac for Mac work (ie iOS dev) I'd get surface pro
3.
I have both and use surface all the time, Mac only when I need it. Depends
what you are working on

Yep considering doing the same.
Windows run ok on the MBP? Surface is way overpriced imo

I for one loved my macbook when i had it, loved the touchpad, loved the
load time and basically loved how the thing felt while i used it. Have not
seen any other laptop that feels the same if that makes any sense :-)

OS CRAP? It's a swings and roundabouts argument .. I prefer at times

I see upsides to both
