Hi
First time poster here so please take it easy on me.
I've only ever had a desktop but looking to purchase my first laptop,
ultrabook preferred. I've been looking at the Dells for warranty and
support feedback I've received, XPS 13 sounds mainly. I wish to use it for
development mainly with
a good buy (without the tablet form tho)

Noob question here.
How would I go about adding SSL to a MVC site? Is it simply a matter of
turning a switch on in the server somewhere and the admins can do it or do
things need to be done in code? I am reading a whole variety of ways such
as adding attributes, filters, configuration settings,
am finding that a bit slow now (yes I know it's a first world problem).
My advice is to seriously get the best tools you can afford as this is

Hi folks
I’m moving an intranet app from an old server to a new server. Currently
the users access the site with a URL like http://*serverA*/appName/.
The issue is now that I’m moving the app the server name in the URL will
change to http://*serverB*/appName.
All the users are forced to update
ServerA or ServerB.

Hi folks
I’ve been verbally offered a contracting role by a recruiter and the
employer has requested a photo of my passport via email. I do not feel
comfortable sending this for a few reasons, email is not secure, who knows
what they will do with the photo like forwarding it, etc.
How do you all

Hi all
I have scirpted out a Sql Server job and the owner parameter is specified
as '~' (a tilde character). Does anyone here know what the tilde means?
@owner_login_name=N'~'
My googling skills have let me down.
Cheers

Hi folks - Greg Low in particular :-)
I have a SQL Server agent job that is failing with error "String data,
right truncation [SQLSTATE 01004]". It seems the reason for this is the
stored procedure the job calls has a bunch of PRINT statements which I
understand find their way through to the job
Hi folks
I'm currently working with some stored procedures which were slow but are
now super fast after I created some missing indexes the execution plan in
SSMS told me to create. I'm not too familiar with SQL Server concepts but
was hoping someone could point me in the right direction: are

For the experienced contractors here who may know...
I am in the process of starting a new contract and the recruitment agent
has requested access to my credit file (via WorkPro). Is this normal? I’ve
only had one contract in the past and the credit check was not done AFAIK.

Hi folks,
Hopefully there are some Blazor devs here...
It may be perhaps because it is Friday and I've lost my mind but I can't
seem to sort out a seemingly simple issue. I have a blazor page with a
button that calls a service to do something and the service returns an
object. What I need is to
