I have a question around the approval of WSS updates from our WSUS server.
The server admin wants to know whether to include these.
My feeling is yes but my concern is with someone installing these as part
of a usual maintenance/security update.
What are other people doing? What caught

My guess is you never uninstalled WSS 2.0 after upgrading to WSS 3.0 and the
binaries are still installed on the server. It was optional to uninstall
Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 after the upgrade, you can safely uninstall it
if you wish.

Personally, Windows updates, via WSUS but anything which touches SharePoint
is deployed manual via test then prod.
