UpdateListItems Web Service in SP 2010

Hi guys, I tried to update a list item via web service. However, it's a bit different now compared to 2007. The OWS_ID always returns 1 instead of the actual List Item ID hence I would never be able to reference it. Any ideas? Cheers, Tommy ___
