click the Set as default My Site link on their My Site
Does the W7 PC have the Office Live Add-in installed? I have seen it cause
issues accessing the site if the page name is not included in the Url. This
was addressed in a CU after SP2 I think.

Sounds like the Vista/IE bug. Didn't realise it also affected Windows 7.
Have you tried accessing with a non-IE browser? That would help narrow down the
cause.

They do have to have a MySite. It can also take up to 24 hours for it to
be push out to users. When the user first logs into the MySite they will
need to click on 'make my default' (from memory) in the upper right hand
side
