We're also seeing the same problem with QT 4.6.3, but only on our Altix
system when building 3.8.0 and 3.9.0 . it's a QT failure from the
QSqlQuery. The build does complete if I rerun the make, but it does
not generate the documentation.

Any reason why you are using Qt 4.5? The official Qt version for
ParaView 3.8 is Qt 4.6.
