Before you give up on mediarecorder you want to make sure that the station your trying to record is indeed up and running or you will get that error. Also you do need to set up the length of time you want to record. You can't just launch the program and press the record button. It doesn't work

Hi Danielle, Try leaving it set that way, and try using Skype. You may have to close one program to use the other It seems like there may be a setting that we are overlooking somewhere, or the 2 programs may not be compatible. It's hard to say, without being able to duplicate the same setup here.
