maybe a DVD!

Ask yourself the same
Then ask yourself first if the recording in question has already been
transfered to CD. If so, chances are fairly good the audio's way better
than anyone could manage it with home equipment. Not always, but usually
the case.

Hello to everyone. I have a question that has been irritating me for some
time now. Some years ago I had some Vinyl LPs and then recorded them to mini
disc via analogue, naturally. I then recorded them to CD on a stand-alone
hi-fi audio CD recorder; I did this digitally via coaxial cable. I had

Hi Bruce.
I'd be shocked if joint stereo had been used for a lossless format like
FLAC. The whole point of joint stereo is to superficially mess with the
signals from both channels to exagerate them and make up for that horrible
compressed, boxed in sound you get from anything ripped under at

Much to my chagrin, I just loked at some original wave files I'd created
with Easy CD-DA Extractor. This is, or at least should be, absolutely
uncompressed. I have found that everything I've created in Easy CD-DA
Extractor, no matter what the format, is in joint stereo. People should be
warned
I think the joint stereo issue may in fact be a Winamp issue. Winamp is
reporting everything being joint stereo, even stuff I know for a fact I
saved as true stereo using Gold Wave. Is there any way to find out
definitively whether or not a file is in joint stereo?

Yes check out the 100 milliwat unit if you're looking to transmit just
around your immediate living area. The only issue with this unit is you
will need to have someone help you set the frequency. Once that is done
however you should be set.

Another option if you have the cash is Broadcast Warehouse. You can set the
frequency on the front of their units.
