For DRM WMA files you have to use something like the Overdrive
transfer tool or Windows Media Player. This is because license
information needs to accompany the files so the player knows it is
alright to play them. Otherwise, the files are unplayable.

You can convert just about any file with this software.
I've converted an asf file to MP3 just so that I can burn it on to an audio
CD.
But the only catch22 here is, you have to buy the MP2 Lame decoder lisence
to do this.
