If I'm downloading older books that were adapted from cassettes, how will I
know this?
I'm asking because there isn't any think on the Bard Talk website to
indicate this.

its relative to the book. usually books that used to be on cassette don't
have the chapter jump. sometimes they do in cases of books that are short
stories. it says at the beginning of every book weather or not you can jump

speed.

The same principle would work, but instead of splitting the tracks with
an audio editor they're using the DAISY standard to mark the different
chapters and headings. I haven't done this myself, or used any of the
DAISY tools, but this is still a manual effort, and NLS has to cut over
to doing

settings? I don't see any on my standard player.
