Yep, PCM 44100 KHZ 16 bit is fine for music, that's what CDs are anyways. Even wma lossless would be fine but only WMP can make it. That's why I wish Olympus would dump regular old WMA, and get WMA Losless on their recorders. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org

Since Tapin Radio was mentioned in Chris's post, I have a question (actually it's for a friend of mine who isn't on this list) but I ask because, it seems like sometime back, this came up: my friend has Window-eyes and installed Tapin Radio. However, he can't get hardly anything to read! I

I heard that Apple made their lossless format open source. I'm not sure why they would do that or what makes it better or different than the rest besides it locked you in when it wasn't open source. I'm not sure if anyone made tools yet using it though if one doesn't use Itunes. -

Tom, The QT Support App must be installed to make Tapin Radio work with Window-Eyes. Tapin Radio works well with both versions 12 and 13 of JAWS for Windows since it has built-in QT support. I'm not sure about earlier versions of JFW and Tapin Radio. Gary King w4...@bellsouth.net -

Hi, Yeah, there are plenty of tools for flac, it being open source means different dev teams can work for different operating systems. That's why it's preferable. So far as I know, one won't be able to get the windows media codec to work on linux. There's also shn, but don't know anyone
