you should be fine with that cpu and ram. I don't know what the problem is,
perhaps other background tasks are taking up some of the computer's resources.

It used to be pretty straight forward to do this in previous versions of
iTunes. The shift F10 option seems to have changed now. Anyone have
directions on how to do it with the latest version of iTunes? Using Windows 7

You need to initialize the device via Audible.com's Audible Manager,

Assuming you've already installed the Audible manager, you should have an icon
on your PC's desktop. Once it is open, press alt-d and arrow down through the
activation options. Before going there, turn off the Stream, insert an SD card,
connect the Stream to your PC, then turn it back on. It
could this be a synchronize issue between the two tracks? Could you
for instance, replicate the problem in reaper?

In addition to the comments previously made, make sure you have the firmware
version that recognises Audible
