I have a stream, but I have not used it in many months -- with audible
support and bard support on the phone, what would I need it for? The
only thing I might do with it is if I had to restore the phone and lose
some content or something, but its nice not to bother with many devices.

Great to have all in one device if you can.
But battery life is a big consideration also. For me having real buttons is
the big advantage.
But then I use the mobile phone maybe only two or three times a month.

I see. I use the phone all the time, so maybe I am used to the touch
screen -- only time I can't use it is if my hands are wet -- have not
solved that problem.

Hi,
Yeah an iPhone is a hard headed battery consumer. :-)
So you won't get many hours reading time. But as one pointed out some people
don't have the option of buying much gear and for those an app might be a
good solution.

Can't wait to read reviews on these, I can only hope that I'm not disappointed
this time around and those who do the reviews find little to fault?

Well, it might be simular to the stream, but there is stil nothing like a blind
friendly device and the way it works.

Yes, great having OOtunes on the Stream. Just the fact that it has blind

Hi, as someone wrote, using the short lead, one can play files on a
memory stick, or if you prefer the term on a flash drive. there is
only one drawback. victor will use more battery than if the files are
on a card. how much more power is used, depends on the sort of memory
stick concerned.
It's a brilliant app if you like listening to books. I use it every day.

I don't think Voice dream supports Braille format. It is primarily designed
for text to audio or playing audio format books. I believe it is possible to
use a braille display with the various text formats but some of the other
apps can be slightly more user friendly. There was an article on this
