For those in australia, Plus7 is now available on the Apple TV - I assume its
the 4G model we’re talking about here -.
Plus7 is the Seven Networks “Catchup TV” service.
I’m looking forward to trying this when I get my Apple TV which will be early
next year some time so therefore I can’t give
I did some further research on the Apple AirPort Extreme and unfortunately I
was absolutely right regarding the price of the thing.
In Australia it can be purchased for $299 and the Asus RTAC3200 in Australia is
$349 so I need not say any more on the subject , the Asus obviously
being a far
Hi Dane.
Subject says it all. I've asked Santa for the 4th gen for Christmas, and I got
Jonathan's book on the 4th gen Apple TV. Not sure where the link is, since I
clicked in the email Jonathan sent out. I can see if I can find it if you need
it.

i'm not 100% sure but i dont think the open source firmware works with the
new ac routers by linksys. i tried linksys for 2 different routers because
thats all i used, when that didnt work, i switched to apple.

Has it got a belt clip on it?
That's the main feature I need.

great view to have, linksys routers are horrible for accessibility. i had
one of there new ac routers and forget about accessibility. maybe 2% out of
100% is accessible, so you basically cant do anything with it. i never used
asus before, i'm sure there very good as well.

Hi!
I’ll try not to make this too technical in order that my email keeps on topic.
List members will know that a VPN can be used to gain access to content

Up until now I’ve been using a VPN on each computer and activating that to

Thanks for that.
I’m going to have fun in a month’s time or thereabouts then.
Jonathan Mosen wrote a book on the Apple TV though I’m still trying to find out
whether it covers the 3G or 4G, the book came out before the official release
of the 4G.
For those who are interested - and if you
Hi Steph,
I think it compares rather well. Except for some minor differences, you
won't have any trouble with it.
It's about the same size is the 520. Also, there's actually a menu button
now rather than having to use that multi-function circular button that was
also used for play/pause and
Ooo how much ya want for the LS 100?

Well, this new way of doing things on apple tv means you really can't
go by previous experiences with older models. That is because they now
have an app model rather than a channel model. So gone is the
accessible grid-type layout. The remote is totally different. There is,
as yet, no bt keyboard
Hi again, Dane.
You want to make sure you're getting the right Apple TV book. It has the 4th
gen in its title.
Just making sure you don't get the wrong book.
Kevin
I was only using the name Linksys for an example, its been absolute ages since
I’ve used one of their Routers so I have no idea how accessible or otherwise
Linksys Routers are now but they were certainly very usable 8 years ago when I
had one.
The Asus Routers have always been good in all the

Do you navigate using the new remote as you would on a touch screen for an IOS
device or is that slightly different again.

Nope. No bluetooth keyboard, or that's what I've read in the mainstream
tech press. That's the bummer. The layout for typing on the new one
stinks and no bluetooth keyboard support. But there is something you
can do with an iphone to enable a better typing experience; that's what
I was mentioning
Does it have the same case as the dm520?

Only thing is, I'm in Australia so not sure about the shipping side of things.
It's basically brand new, only used once.

i have 2 apple airport extreme's and i'd never change to anything else. the
great thing is they just work, no issues, they work perfectly with the
iphone, 100% totally accessible, there is not one thing that isnt accessible
on the airport extreme. setup is the easiest ever.

that’s okay about the link, I have it here so thanks for the confirmation that
the book covers the latest Apple TV version.
For those interested you can find a review of the book in a previous edition of

I’m not specifically sure about the Open Source stuff with Linksys, I know 8
years ago there was no problem with it.
Anyway if you can find out if the Linksys router will support open source
firmware, if so then its more than likely that the firmware of the Router will
be accessible and - if
Hi all,
I'm thinking of huying a dm620. My dm520 still works, but it's so compact and
small, with fairly good sound I'd like another one. I have a dm7, which has
good sound, but it's huge and I'm thinking of selling it, along with my ls100
which I'd never used yet.
Anyway, how does the 620
No. It's a different one.

If you’re happy with what you’re using then fine and if it works for you then
all well and good.
All I’m saying is that - if you have the choice and you’re looking for
something new or to upgrade to something good - then the Airport Extreme - as a
new Router - is not worth considering given
I’ll keep that in mind when buying and and I’m sure others will find this

Link sys have been bought out by Belkin over the last year so I don’t know
whether the takeover has prompted a redesign of Linksys equipment.
If their products are no longer accessible then its a huge blow as they’re
second to Asus it seems as far as performance goes.

I am using a Belkin routher as we speak
was unaware that linksys bought them out.

Hi!
This all goes back to the Logitech Squeezebox Boom I bought 4 years ago.
Though the Boom isn’t officially supported any longer it still does work though
it cannot be updated so the question is just how long will it work, shame but
there we are.
I also bought a Logitech Squeezebox Radio
Hi!
I’d thought it would support it because my newer airport extreme does support
this protocol.
However you mentioned that it was a bottle neck for data.
Do you have a very big appartment?
I have not so i wonder if this makes any difference?
I also wonder how it can be a bottle neck for data but
The apartment size isn’t so much an issue these days rather the other people
who are using Wi-Fi networks and there are around a dozen of those near me
according to my scan.
My Wi-Fi travels right up the road to the Doctors surgery 2 doors away though I
don’t think I’d be too reliant on
