I received the chrome cast earlier today and I’m impressed!
The new unit is far smaller than the older Chromecast I had and will run on my
5.0GHZ Wi-Fi network whereas the older unit wouldn’t look at it.
I setup the Chromecast from the Google Home App on my iPhone but I’m going to

Once the phone or tablet has sent the audio or audio plus video to the
Chromecast, the Chromecast stream is using Wi-Fi directly from the source. But
Apple Music does not allow chrome cast. So if you are heavily into Apple Music,
it won't be a good choice.

Hi!
Yesterday i tried the Chromecast for music at one of my friends and was very
amazed.
But one thing i don’t get the hang of is how it actually can stream the music
or radio station even after you closed the app or even turned of your phone.
Does it connects directly to the stream itself
I’m very much looking forward to trying this new version of Airfoil for Mac
given its extra abilities available now to stream to Chromecast compatible
devices.
I would assume that a similar update for the Windows version of Airfoil will
follow before too long.

This entry is of particular interest to those who have a Google Chromecast

I bought a Google Chromecast over 6 months ago and its one of those products
which I'd put into the Bargain Basket, so small, so cheap and yet so flexible
as the linked article demonstrates yet again.

Are there devices out there that don't break the bank that can convert HDMI
from the Chromecast to either audio via a 30-pin dock connector on a speaker

a lot of people would be very happy :D

Don't see why that couldn't be done if you have an App to handle that, you can
also use the Chrome browser to do it, Chrome has a full command set for the
Chromecast.

The Chromecast is really meant to plug straight into a Television, most
televisions that have come out in the last few years have HDMI ports on them.
When you talk of conversion then you start making things complex and its most
likely that such solutions will break your bank.

Dane, I'm curious about something.
When using the newest Apple TV 3, it's quite easy for a visually
impaired user to set it up (Voice Over is enabled immediately when
you first turn it on.)
With the Google Chromecast, how easy is it for someone to set up
without sighted assistance?
