Hi, I know this has been discussed many times on this list but I want to rehash the subject Now my travel companion is a Dell XPS-1210 Laptop It's almost three years old but is still doing the job an considering what I paid for it I'm not ready to give it up just yet!
This little puppy has a couple of problems that I wish to remedy in one fell swoop! 1): the Sigmatell audio driver such the big one. jfw has that old crackle that used to be a problem with the old sound blaster live cards and jfw. 2): the XPS-1210 only has an express card slot which rules out the Echo Indigo card solution. So, I want to find an express card that will not only improve audio for external speakers and headphones, but for the internal speakers as well. I have researched the creative labs x5 express but have read that it won't run the internal laptop speakers. I have also read that it is very loose and can easily disconnect from the express slot.
