What you see on the outside is nothing compared to what's on the inside.
As I said, Gracenote CDDB has allot more error checking applied whereas FREEDB
is... well... open slather, just take a look at FREEDB sometimes and see how
many matches you'll

Well, the Gracenote CDDB requires a software writer to pay a licence fee
and has more stringent rules about their licence. The Freedb seems to be free.
I find that more of the CD's that I put into the system come up on the
Gracenote one. But I simply want to have the option to find it in one

As I recall, CDEX could access Gracenote CDDB until the Gracenote company took
it over, Gracenote now charge an access fee for the service so that's why many
CD Rippers are unable to access it.

That's right! the Gracenote CDDB is checked for errors (or supposed to be
checked for errors) whereas FREEDB is not.
