Subject: New to Total Recorder questions
Hello,
I want to be able to record streams and my brother recommended Total
Recorder to me. I'm just wondering if there's anything in particular I
should bear in mind re accessibility when I buy and install it? I
I will say that while total Recorder is easy to use, as part of the
Sound Computing series, for a total of $9.00, you get fifty audio
tutorials/articles and four of them are instructions for setting up
and using total Recorder.

I myself here use Total Recorder in conjunction with other products
such as Sound Forge etc on the Pc, as Steve's already pointed out,
Total Recorder and Sound Forge for example are 2 different programmes
and cannot be compared with one and other though having said that if

I am new to the list and new to sound recording.
Using Total Recorder I am trying to convert taped material to digital

1. In the new recording the track length is far longer than the actual
recording. I have been deleting this by selecting the unwanted
well about clipping extra material, all you need to do is set your right
marker and hit control delete, delete everything except selection.

Could any of my fellow TR users please tell me if it is possible to
modify a preset in the recording source and parameters dialog box? I
guess it is no real problem to just delete a preset and start over,

Hi Ann, I finally figured it out, because total recorder behaves the
way it does when you're making normal recordings, and by that I mean
that if a source like winamp or media player is started before total
recorder is, then, it won't record, because it sees a driver or
something like that, so
wow!
Well, you got it to work. You can always change the Output setting in Winamp
from the Wave Out plug in to the Direct Sound one. I don't like using that
one much myself, but it might not conflict with Total recorder.

Hi. Indeed, the buttons in tR5.3 are not labeled, and this works the same
in JFW as with Window-Eyes. The problem is minimized by the fact that
there are keyboard shortcuts for all functions provided by the
buttons. Part of the problem may be that they have streamlined the display
