I went to the game day audio site to hear a playoff game, today, and the site was changed. There were no audio links. I didn't realize that i only got the regular season with my subscription. So, I bought the postseason package for $9.95. As I understand it, one has to go to an mlb site and so some clicking with the mouse. Re: MLB threw a curve
Juhn I'm chatting with Liam and he got the site to work. He advises for you to click on the media guide and then the links should appear. I hope this helps. Liam reports that all of a sudden they are changingSome of these sites such as the american hockey league. Apparently that one is messed up big time. *** REPLY SEPARATOR *** On 10/3/2006 at 8:26 PM John Schwery wrote: I went to the game day audio site to hear a playoff game, today, and the site was changed. There were no audio links. I didn't realize that i only got the regular season with my subscription. So, I bought the postseason package for $9.95. As I understand it, one has to go to an mlb site and so some clicking with the mouse. I don't know how one positions the page to see the listen link with a Window Eyes mouse key. It isn't as accessible as it used to be. And, I think the listen link gives the home team feed. John -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Article: Creative Xmod Claims to Improve Music
This article is taken from the Beta News home page at www.betanews.com. -Steve. Creative Xmod Claims to Improve Music By Nate Mook, BetaNews October 3, 2006, 12:50 PM Creative has unveiled a new device called the Xmod, which is based upon the company's X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio platform and promises to improve the audio quality of compressed music, such as that purchased from Apple's iTunes or any MP3 files. Shaped like a candy bar, the Xmod plugs in between an audio source and stereo speakers or pair of headphones. It works with any portable audio player including the iPod, along with plugging into a computer's USB port without requiring the use of software. Creative claims the result is better than CD quality sound. Essentially, the Xmod up-converts the audio signal to 24-bit surround. The X-Fi Crystalizer identifies which areas of the audio file have been truncated or damaged during compression. Creative says the technology can restore the highs and lows of the music that otherwise would not have been audible. The X-Fi CMSS-3D component of the Xmod, meanwhile, creates virtual surround sound through speakers or headphones. Because most digital audio included on movie and TV show downloads includes only two-channel stereo, Creative has designed the Xmod to emulate a multi-channel speaker setup. It can place specific voices in the virtual center channel while ambient noise is in the background. There are more than 100 million people who listen to MP3, WMA or AAC music on their PCs, Macs or iPod or ZEN players, but the quality of this compressed music is highly compromised. The Creative Xmod enables them to listen to their music with audio that sounds even better than CDs, remarked Creative CEO Sim Wong Hoo. All your music is instantly upconverted to the Xtreme Fidelity standard in real time through a simple and compact device. The Xmod is scheduled to begin shipping this month at a retail price of $79.99 USD. An AC adapter is required when using the device with a portable audio player. Re: Stuttering
I doubt the entries in the Startup tab of msconfig for Nero and Adobe had anything to do with your stuttering problems. I suspect they either put utilities in the system tray or sit resident in memory so that Adobe and Nero load more quickly. Although they may not be the cause of your stuttering problem, I usually don't have them startup automatically, since I don't load them that frequently, and I want to free up the little bit of memory they consume. If AVG is actively scanning your system, that would generate a lot of IO activity, which is usually a pretty high priority task and could cause some stuttering. You say you have a fast system, but there could be other bottlenecks besides the processor. I know on my other system, I had some stuttering when Norton was running. I fixed it by updating my nVidia device drivers. Gary Petraccaro wrote: Just checked MSConfig and found Nero and Adobe related items running on startup. Unchecked both and the problem songs played fine. Then, rechecked each and then both and the song still played fine. Oh, well. Now, I'm just curious as to what's going on. I'll keep your message and tinker with this some more. Thanks. - Original Message - From: Christopher Chaltain To: PC audio discussion list. There may be some entries in there that don't show up in the system tray. You could also bring up Task Manager or some other process reporting tool to see if there's a process that starts hogging the processor about the same time you see the stuttering problems. Another thing that I do is to go into my sound themes and set a relatively annocuous sound for process start and process end. If some process is kicking off before the stuttering starts, you'll hear it kick off. This will at least tell you if something is starting up that may be using up a lot of processor cycles. Replay Converter problems. Please help.
I am trying to convert .ram files to CD-quality .mp3 files. I tell Replay Converter what to convert it to and the process starts. Then I keep getting error messages that say that it could not convert the file. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Is there anything I need to do first? Re: Replay Converter problems. Please help.
Do you have any more information? What's in the log file? It's in the directory where Replay converter is installed, which is probably something like C:\Program Files\Replay converter\ReplayConverter.log. BTW, I've always gotten prompt and helpful service from their customer support email address. John Moore wrote: I am trying to convert .ram files to CD-quality .mp3 files.
