Also, bit-rate is not the only parameter that can be varied. As I recall, frequency response and sampling rate can be varied in some cases as well at the same bit rate. I remember this making a big difference even with the same encoder on a low bit-rate file I was trying to create. Best

Dave, Both Audition and Sound Forge can change the phase of an audio chanel. I took advantage of it in Audition and don't think that the title of the option was obvious, though. As I recall, I had to select one channel for processing and then select all in audition. I don't have access to
