 High Rob,
I once tried to sign up for Send Space, but could not find the register
link to do that on the Send Space Website.
A friend of mind, invited me to join her in her Dropbox account, that's
 how I got it!
Now to answer your question about how long you can leave files on any
server, with Send Space, you can specify a time limit, so I understand.
With Dropbox, you can leave the file or files up until you get ready to
 delete them.
When you download and install the software, it will put a folder in My
Documents on your computer that's entitled, My Dropbox.
You can upload the files from there.
But you don't really need to do anything, because the software will take
 care of that for you.
All you have to do is, email the link to the file to someone if you wish
 to send it to anyone.
Storage space, I don't know about Send Space.
But with Dropbox, you can do this 2 ways.
#1. you can invite a friend to join you on your account to increase your
 storage space.
Or #2. you can rent more storage space for a price.
Other wise, you will start out with about 1 GB of storage space.
 Hope this helps.
 My best regards.
  John.

RE: Playlist converter.

2010-06-24 Thread Christopher Chaltain
There's Switch, which is free, and Switch Plus which isn't. When you
download Switch you get a free trial of Switch Plus which lasts for about
two weeks. If you don't upgrade to Switch Plus then the program will revert
to Switch, and you'll lose the features in Switch Plus. I don't use the
feature you're asking for, but I suspect it's in Switch, and you won't need
to upgrade to Switch Plus. I myself have never been tempted to upgrade to
Switch Plus, other than to support a product that I use so much.

Good evening Tom and listmembers.

In terms of anyone's direct experience, how does Dropbox compare in
quality and efficiency to Sendspace as an internmediate web-based audio
file transfer agent? What are the capacity and time limits of each? Is
either or both free or do you need to buy subscriptions?
Thanks in advance for your info and guidance.

Cheers to you

IBM ThinkPad soundcard

2010-06-24 Thread Howard Traxler

Hello All,
Does anyone else have an IBM ThinkPad T40 notebook? I've been trying to
find out if the audio input jack (there appears to be only one) to the Sound
Max sound card can receive stereo. I've tried, using various external
mixing configurations and I can't seem to get stereo into it. Am I doing
something wrong, or is it not available on this model?

Thanks anybody.

Question About File Extention Name

2010-06-24 Thread Tom Kaufman

name is invalid or one that is not supported! So what is a .m4A?

iTunes Installation Problem

2010-06-24 Thread Dan Kerstetter
A few weeks ago, Apple's automatic updater ran and I was told there was a
new version of iTunes. I pressed the install button. The install could not
complete, however, and I received an error message about bonjour. I tried
uninstalling the bonjour and installing something new from Apple called
bonjour printer services. This did not solve the problem.

Is there a way I can uninstall everything and let iTunes start installing
itself from scratch? I've tried a system restore to a point when I know it
was working properly. This did not solve the problem.

I would appreciate any feedback on this. I thought about using a sledge
hammer on my computer, but I didn't feel like cleaning up the mess. LOL
Seriously I'll take any help I can get.

Re: video editing software?

2010-06-24 Thread adam Morris
I gather it would depend on your card, with my winfast card once the
software for the card is running and the paramaters are set you would press
ctrl r then a box comes up and you press enter on the ok button and the file
records and is saved where you told it to.

I needed assistance setting the paramaters, Someone has done it with window
eyes but I couldn't follow their instructions.

Write me off list or call me if you want further details.

the link is

http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htm

its around $84 USD.

it has menu's but it doesn't speak when placing marks, you just have to
put

the marks in and then save the file.

This software won't record the files, you need a tv tuner to record the
mpeg
file then this will edit it.

No..but am thinking about downloading that program..hopefully it's not a
difficult program to use..and I'll be able to figure it out--smile!
Apparently, this is one file type that Total Recorder does not convert

Re: Have Downloaded Switch..Now What?

2010-06-24 Thread matthew
The easiest way I know to do this is highlight the file you want to
switch. Go into applications and down to convert with switch I think it
is. You can tell it to put the converted file in the same directory as
the one you are working on or tell it a different one I think.

Re: Have Downloaded Switch..Now What?

2010-06-24 Thread DJ DOCTOR P

High Tom,
Highlight the file by having the curser pointing at it.
Go in to your file menu and scroll down to Switch.
Tab over to where it says file options or something rather like that.
Hit the space bar.
You will see a list of file types.
If the default file isn't .mp3, then scroll up or down until you get to that
one.
It also gives you the option to set the bit rate and stereo joint stereo or
force stereo.
After you have done this, then tab over to ok, hit the space bar. then tab
over to the convert button and hit the space bar again.

At this point, Switch will start converting the file to .mp3.
But now that Switch is sat to convert files to .mp3, you can follow the
steps above.
But only, you will hit the F3 key to start Switch to converting files to
.mp3.

Hope this helps.
My best regards.

RE: Veronica FM transmitter

2010-06-24 Thread ace
These are the best transmitters in my opinion.
They also cost more than the conventail device you can buy at best buy.
I think the range is what one needs to determine before buying the unit.
I personally totally love there devices and customer service.
I just wish they were cheaper.

There are a number of Veronica Fm transmitters although the company is now
called Aareff so go to aareff.com and you will find all of them. Keep in
mind that these aren't certified by the Fcc if you're in the Usa.

I am writing to inquire as to whether there is more than one

 lock loop.

Three other questions if I may. Is there a pot on the transmitter
which allows one to match the output from the source to the
transmitter? Second, will this unit work in conjunction with a whip
antenna, or must it be connected to a roof top antenna? Lastly, are
its input connectors RCA or 3.5 mm.?

 Thanks for feedback.

Update On Using Switch

2010-06-24 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hi List: Thought you'd all like to know that I'm having better luck with the
Switch program..thanks to John! the F3 does work..but now I've discovered
much to my dismay that none of the buttons will work! All I did was to
maximize the program (maybe I shouldn't have done that)..anyhow..now, if I hit
enter on anything..nothing happens (it did before)..so how do I fix this?
