RE: Is the NCH audio software accessible?

2013-12-27 Thread Adrian Spratt
I have a question about Express Burn, which I use on a 64-bit Win7 machine.

When I rip a CD, it does two things I don't like. First, it reorders the
sequence of tracks so that they appear alphabetically, not the way they appear
on the album. Second, each track name begins with the name of the CD so that I
have to remove that part of the name manually.

The one thing I like about Windows Media Player, which became too cumbersome
for me, is that it ripped a CD with the album name as the main folder and each
track inside that folder in album sequence.

Has any Express Burn user found how to rip a CD the way I want?

I've used Express Burn for several years, and I find it totally accessible.
There is one area near the bottom that keeps track of how much space is on
the disk, and how much of that space you've marked files for burning. This
is only accessible via the Jaws cursor, or a simple script can be written.
Best of all, the program is free for the first two weeks or 15 days, so
you get to try it prior to buying it.

I believe it will work on Windows 7 64 bit. The program itself is very
 accessible.

 Hi list, Merry Christmas.

Would anyone here know about the accessibility of the software from NCH?
Specifically, I want to look into their Express Burn CD burning software,
 if
it works on Windows 7 64 bit machines. If anyone's had experience using
this, would you please give me some pointers for getting the best use from
it? Windows Media Player seems a bit tricky for setting up a playlist to
burn to a CD; I use System Access for a screen reader but something's
 wrong
 with the Media Library in that it won't let me burn something to CD;
 Support
can't help much in this case. I have tried Digital Jukebox from
 Marvelsoft;
in that case yes, I can make the playlist and then go to the Project menu
and tell the program to burn the tracks to CD; a blank CD is in the drive,
but when I hit the okay button after I'm given the total playing time for
the tracks to burn the CD, the speech just goes silent and a message pops
 up
that the dj.exe has stopped working and should be closed; I haven't heard
back from their tech support yet, maybe tomorrow after Christmas.
Meanwhile I'm wanting to find out more about Express Burn by NCH Software
 to
find out if it's accessible with screen readers before I plunk down money
for it. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me on this; also if
anyone has experience with Digital Jukebox by Marvelsoft I'm interested in
learning about experiences people had using it. thanks again and Merry
 Christmas.

Peter, For me, the easiest way to add files in Burnaware is to use cut
and paste. I hate drag and drop solutions. I should also mention that
when setting up an audio CD in Burnaware, one can also easily rearrange
the order of the files to be played without having to renumber them.

Additionally, one can burn Iso files as well as bin-cue files if he wishes.

Hi Donald and Brian. This Burnaware sounds like a good one. Now, to
select songs to put on the audio CD, since I find Windows Media Player
tricky as far as making a playlist, is there a Browse function where I
can find the songs that are on the hard drive and copy and paste? What's
the best way you've found to put several tracks into the program for
burning to disc? Please let me know of any tips or tricks that've
worked for you; thanks very much.
