problems with playing DVDs

Hi all, Have any of you had problems with windows mediaplayer will only play half a Dvd? I have some tv series with 2 or more eppisodes. I can only play the first eppisode. This situation has arrived lately maybe in conjunction with some updates of the computer. Best regards Brian
