Nice to be back on the old list. Does anybody know if the iriver HD
recorders/players are accessible please? My Understanding is that through
the line-in, or the onboard mic the default file format is mp3. It would
be nice to record straight to .wav, but mp3 will suffice

updates it, has changed the list view, to a grid. Don't know if this is

I think what you may have achieved is to have removed what goldwave thinks
as clicks and cracks from the whole sound file. What you need to do is
select the areas where there are crackles and apply the effect to those
specific areas.

This doesn't help, but this is the verry reason I've stuck with my M
audio 24/96 on an xp machine.
The last revision of the software for xp, gave a number of access
issues, and I'm not sure that those have been resolved if there is an
updated package for win7.

you need to set CDEX to access freedb.
press F4 for the settings pages, and it's one of those. Just needs
an email address, I think you can leave the other settings
alone. You might want to check the box which has cdex query the DB
when a disk is in the drive.

number of reasons why you are hearing distortion, and changint the
bit-rate will not fix this.
When you say distortion, do you mean over mudulation, or are you
hearing artifacts in the audio?

If you play these files on-line from Youtube, how is the sound thenm?
Do you think that the distortion is being introduced when the files
are converted?
I haven't had any excperience with these youtube stream rippers or

As you say, Itunes on both systems shouldn't present a problem.
Pages is a word processor for the mac, and will read, and save
documents back in to word format.
You would use numbers, as a spreadsheet package if you want, it's
