Or, you may have a drive with a sleeve, so you
have to push on a sort of button so the drive
will slice in the sleeve, exposing the connector.

Okay..here's the deal on the drive: one end is
rounded (it apparently needs to be square)..in
any case, no matter which way I turn that
drive, it _will not_ go in! As far as I can
tell, there's no cap or anything over it! Do
I have some kind fof an odd-balled drive?
Tom Kaufman (aka Tomcat) P.S. I ordered my
cartridge on line! Probably should have called
first as I didn't know they were on back order!

Tom, what do you mean it doesn't fit the machine? There's a USB port on the
right hand side of the machine, it's about half way to the back, right
behind the headphone jack. When the machine is shipped, it'll be covered
with a small plastic cap. The cap just pops off, and the flash drive should
plug into that port with no problem. A flash drive can only go in one way,
so if you're having trouble with it, you may want to flip it over. Good
luck.

Hello Christopher and list: Well..my trials and tribulations continue: I
had hoped to get a Kingston flash drive (they didn't have one)..so Mom
picked up one called a PNY..however..it doesn't even fit the machine! I
have ordered a cartridge from APH..but someone on the list here informed us
last night that we'll have to wait a month! I also got a UUSB extension
cable..but I'm not even sure that'll work! So it looks like I'm back to

I'm not sure what you already have Tom since you didn't include the
message you're replying to, but if you're talking about the cable
needed to connect a blank NLS cartridge to your PC then you need a
standard USB extension cable. This will have a full sized male
connector at one end and a full size female connector at the other
end. Note that due to the housing on the NLS cartridge, many USB
extension cables aren't going to work, and you may find it best to buy
a cable from ILA, APH or Perkins especially designed to work with the
NLS cartridges.

I know this has all been discussed on this list before, but I just saw
this message today and figured I better clarify. Also, as mentioned on
this list, the BARD Talk web site is a treasure trove of good
information. It's also well organized and well thought out. I think it
will clarify a lot and won't appear as contradictory as separate posts
to a mailing list may seem to be.

you want the standard cable normally used for digital cameras. It has a
standard USB on one end and the other is about half the size.
