advert break: The (leading) german computer magazine c't [1] has a
6-page Pd tutorial in its 17/07 issue (in stores Aug 6), written by
yours truly.
It's a basic introduction geared towards absolute beginners. But I've
managed to smuggle (at least) two small mistakes into the example
the general decrease in performance over the previous G5/PPC 970.
-Do you mean this specifically towards video graphics, or as a whole?

Just curious, why wouldn't there ever be a 64-bit version of GEM?
I've been thinking that a 64-bit build of Pd-extended would be nice
to have, especially because using 64-bit floats as Pd's native format
would make it much more flexible. You could represent UNIX
timestamps properly,

Apple reversed a previous decision and killed the 64 bit Carbon C/C++ API.
