Font rendering quite CPU expensive in GEM (Jerome Tuncer)
Its also down to what typeface you are using. The more complex the
curve, the higher the polygon count. Straight edge/polygon faces such
as Gridnik (http://www.foundrytypes.co.uk/foundry_gridnik/

Was wondering about the pix_grab. It seems to (still) produce some
strange results. I did post a comment on the bug report some time
back. Just wanted to see if there was any follow up. Im using HCS'
installer on OSX 10.4 PPC

Absolutely.
But this is an old subject. How did you come across it?
Would you know how to implement? Be happy to assist if I can...

Sorry, I do mean the [polygon] object in Gem - not curve. Curve
appears to be restricted to some 10 points. Ill look into the forced
rendering stuff - although not entirely sure how it helps. Thanks for
pointer. Couldnt get linked download.

Hi, is there a more efficient way of feeding co-ordinates to the
polygon object? If I have more than 20 points it is somewhat
difficult to match a feed to the inlets. Something like a matrix
input could make that simpler...
Thanks.

To whom it may concern,
Some time ago I was explained the issues of why FTGL libs was not

Is there anywhere I can find a recent version of GEM, for OSX G4,
that is compiled WITH FTGL?
Well, thanks.

Hi, I posted a question last week on why [textextruded] wasnt
working. I
got the answer, GEM must be compiled with FTGL.
So why was it changed in the first place? It seemed to be running
fine
(or sort of) and now it aint working at all. And sadly I dont know
how
to compile GEM with
GEM moved to FTGL years ago. This was not a recent change at all.
Sure, but now its busted. Thats my point. From what I understand, the
current GEM version on cvs doesnt include FTGL. Yes?

working. I
got the answer, GEM must
for the feedback.
Best,

Had a look on the site
of the most essential components of GEM and there
are no explanation to why it no longer appears working (at least I
havent found any). Has been that way for months. Havent been able to
use any of the releases since extended 4.
Sorry to bicker about it.

Hi, Im trying to get msgfile to work on OSX 10.4.8 (G4) using HCS's
PD 0.39.2 extended (test 4). No luck. Wont read, write or anything.
Just printing [done] bang. Is there a known bug/break here? Cant find
anything on the list...
Thanks,

Thanks for advice, I will dig into PyText. Have used it some before
but remember getting stuck. Any newbie intro would be appreciated.
Still doesnt explain how the same character can be displayed inside
PD with two different results in GEM.
