I started SLR photgraphy with some russian screwmount
Zenits and later upgraded to Praktica. My lenses were
also east-german and russian ones. What a simple
situation, almost no zooms there... ;-)
My first and only M42 zoom lens was
Ektachrome E100S is also a good choice. It's slightly less saturated
than E100VS, so it scans very well.

I always found T400CN awful on colour paper - the contrast was ummm
wrong - can't explain how. But when reprinted on standard Ilford MG paper it

essential to street photography. A large pro-looking SLR, and a honkin'
fast zoom lens tends to inhibit folks on the street a lot more than a small

I got my ebay BIN $49 K1000 today. The camera is in great condition,
it had a leaky battery inside, but the meter came to life when I
cleaned the compartment and put a new battery in. It has the Asahi
