According to the tests the optical performance is quite equal, with perhaps the Pentax slightly behind at the very largest apertures. I have the Sigma which I bought at a good price from a fellow PDMLer - it´s excellent but I do not use it so much so I cannot comment on mechanical durability.

Goo Gone is the beter product. Put it on the glue, rub around and let it sit quite wet for 15 minutes. With paper toweling, wipe across the old glue. Keep turning to new paper, and eventually it will come off. Put a little Goo Gone on the paper towel and rub. It will remove the residue very well.
