I've just completed my first day's serious motorsports shooting with the
*ist-D. First, the complaints:
o That stupid eyepiece rubber eyecup - it's vanished somewhere.
o The battery meter needs finer granularity - Full/Half/None is
nowhere near enough to tell you if you've got enough
I am taking a short-term new photography class. New to me, that is.
Studio portrait lighting with a good local photographer. Not adult ed in this
case. A local rental darkroom place that also offers classes with various
people. The teacher also happens to be the director.

He's a very handsome animal and almost seemed to be posing for the people taking
pictures. He's also huge even though there's nothing in the picture

Were you on a bridge shooting? Seems obvious from the photo unless your were
ON the track and on stilts (!), but you could have rotated the photo)

Nice John. I agree that the battery gauge is almost useless. I've had
equally good experiences with framing and the viewfinder. It's quite
adequate. Have you considered shooting RAW and sharpening in the
conversion? I've had better luck in terms of the final result when
working that way. Less
i'm surprised you see any difference. that isn't the point. the point is
that 8-bit mode allows you a few manipulations before you see artifacts.
16-bit mode allows you quite a bit more before that starts to happen.

I found that the user guide says:

camera bodies.
I guess that means it can be used in manual, which I do most of the time
anyway (with PZ-1 and MZ-S). TTL still works in manual with thes bodies.
