I also agree with JCO. The difference between a 50mm and 100mm is not the DOF, assuming your object has the same size on your film or sensor. The difference is a bigger working distance for the 100mm, and a smaller angle of view, which gives you more change to get a less distracting background.

The P3/P30 cameras were the low end bodys in the P series, (The high end body being the P5/P50), as such they were a bit of a disappointment to most Pentax aficionados. They have more plastic in them than the previous M series and don't really have better features than the A series cameras.

Jerome's images are good shots. i take the lazy way out, i bought a set of plugins that do the blending for me. although converting RAW at different exposures works, i find that if i just have one exposure, then the Photoshop CS Shadows and Highlights adjustment on the 16-bit image works better.

Well, I can move to the right/left along the bridge I took the shots from. There is another bridge on the other side (just above and a feet feet back from the top of those shots) but it only has sidewalk on the side away from the falls and I wouldn't trust people driving here not to run me over.
