Not arguing John. The fact still is that the *ist D is almost two years old, with some here believing or hoping it's replacement is forthcoming. If I couldn't wait, I'd buy the D at a low price. Otherwise I'd wait. Does it sell at the same price everywhere or just one particular retailer?

PEF doesn't have a colourspace per se. The convention holds from the JPEG and TIFF's and also affects the embedded JPEG as well as the default conversion settings, but as the PEF is raw sensor data it can't have a colourspace. I use ProPhotoRGB for my PEF conversion space just fine. -Adam
