It depends what kind of shooting your doing and aperture also. I can have a dirty sensor and see it glaringly in some shots while in others it's totally undetectable. I find it most noticeable in shots with lots of sky or water. Large expanses of lighter tones against which the dust shows

TIFF is essentially a container format only defining the wrapper around the actual data, but there is a 'standard' format for 8 or 16bit image data inside which is extremely inefficient. RAW files typically use the container format, but lack a lot of the extra baggage of the internal image
