I get it. I'm usually shooting birds off a monopod, so I'm up around 1/500th shutter speed with the 400 and higher yet with the 400 and the A2XS. I have shot some off the tripod recently but still used quite a bit of shutter speed. I'll have to try some at a speed closer to ambient. Paul

Yes, there's a tripod thread about 3/8 inch to the rear of the securing bolt on the Manfrotto adapter. (My tabletop tripod has been equipped with a Manfrotto RC2 QR adapter, however ... ;-) I've had no problems with the Hakuba grips, but this is yards better made and does it for me.
