The way I see it is that since the introduction of their
DSLRs, Pentax has broken away with caring one iota about
compatibility with legacy products like they always did
in the past. They could very easily put out a new FF DSLR
that DOESNT USE DA lenses under their new mantra, and
develop/sell

I've had problems with red eye (which is actually kind of a yellowish
orange) when shooting squirrels with flash and the Xtender. Did you
mount it on the shoe?
I always use a telephoto flash bracket mounted on the lens' tripod QR plate:
In the real world no one with even a bit of common sense would convert a RAW at
default settings. The whole idea of shooting RAW is to optimize the image.
