not quite sure what I am seeing. The people are too small for me to
really make out what is happening and they are kind of blown out.

The BW seems a bit better, but I'm not sure I would have cropped any
tighter. My lean is toward BW with the original cropping.

Maybe my tastes are changing. They do seem too bright and saturated to me.
My first impression is that viewed together as a collection of thumbnails,

A well composed collection. Unnatural color hue and borderline extreme
saturation detract. A more natural look would improve..IMHO.

You need to look at these with a calibrated monitor!
They are =certainly= not bluish, without contrast, or
undersaturated! In fact, if anything, they tend in
the opposite direction.
Gorgeous scenes and compositions; I'd love to see your
prints sometime--or more accurate Photo.net posts.
That is about where I am at. The locations, lighting and compositions
are excellent, but the colors are just way over the top for me.

Whatever you are trying to acheive it's not working,
I like them now. I might brighten the midrange a bit with a curves
adjustment. But they're spectacular photos. Yes, they're Velvia, and
they're going to look saturated. But it's a look and an appropriate
one for this photography. Very nice.
