Well, actually, if you shoot RAW the converters eliminate these pixels for you
(and it seems that even some tool eliminates them automatically from jpgs).

Haven't tried one in a camera, but I have added a 2GB micro for more
memory in my phone and in that application it works fine. I suspect
they don't have a very fast write speed, but if one is not looking for
