Not necessarily, the FF cameras make up a very small portion of sales at the present time. As long a as Olympus et al. continue in the 4:3 game there will be a system trapped with a smaller sensor than Pentax, who's market share they can cannibalize with high quality less expensive options.

A higher pixel count is not important to me. 14.6 megapixel already allows me to crop more than I do. High-ISO quality is the only true improvement I can dream of. So if I had to think about my FF camera of choice, it would be in the range of 16-18 megapixel (so that the DA crop will retain 8-9

What are they, razorbills? They're not guillemots, although they look a bit like them. I don't know if we get those here. First time I saw a guillemot it was swimming very quickly underwater chasing fish and I thought it was a penguin. Which was extremely confusing as I was in Dorset at the time.

I think the equation will be different for the D700. The 5D was less camera than a 30D with a much better sensor, unless you needed the better sensor (or improved low-light AF) the 30D/40D run rings around the 5D for most people, for 1/3 the money. But the D700 essentially gives you slightly more

Sony already has brand equity in the pro market as they're the dominant player in lower-end pro video and there's some serious crossover. They also have the only Zeiss AF lenses on the market and they've been clear that any new pro lens from Sony will be a Zeiss lens and only the older or low-end
