A wee update:
I used the rmove Norton tool that is on the Symantec website and now all
seems good. I've rebooted the machine a half dozen times since running the
tool with no boot up issues.

The clumsy part of trying to make Pentax mount lenses fully compatible
is the mechanical aperture actuation mechanism, IMO. It means an
additional mechanical linkage timed to the shutter actuation, with
precision movement for setting the aperture on A mode or with DA
series lenses.
