I think I just figured out one reason why my iMac seems so much slower at
processing photos. When I got it, I was processing 6MP K100 files that were
3-5MB, now I'm processing 15MP K-5 files that are 15-25MB. If it seems 1/2 to
1/3 as fast as it was, it's because it's processing 2-3 times
I doubt it. They had the opportunity to do 24x36 with the M module and
didn't. And M mount lenses cost more than K mount lenses typically.
Plus the M mount module has no AF, a K mount module without AF
probably wouldn't float IMO. So I think it will be APS-C and I doubt
it will generate huge

My feeling is that the actual code conversion is built in into LR,
and it doesn't consult the .lcp file for that, but only uses
the .lcp file to match the lens and apply adjustments for it.

Yup ... a larger pixel resolution costs geometric increases in
processing operations.
Every so often I go out shooting with the Olympus E-1, a measly
5Mpixel camera, and it seems like my computer has gotten three times
faster when I download and process the raw files from it. :-)

With every update to LR, the lens database changes. Sometimes the
lens information drops out when it was in a previous point release.
Sometimes lens information comes back in.
