I was out in the front yard today, and looked at the cedar logs. The
deep red seen in this image has faded quite noticeably, as the log
dries out. It is still readily identifiable as red cedar, but the
intensity that made it so interesting to me just a few days ago has
disappeared.

I've solved the spectacle wearer's viewfinder use by knocking the lens out of a
pair of glasses. Allows me to get my eyeball close enough to see the entire
frame. The built in diopter on the K series DSLRs takes care of what I need

Yesterday my 5 1/2 month old K-5 rolled 5000 exposures, roughly double my usual
shooting rate. Trips to Williamsburg and the English Midlands and a few event
shoots kept it busy.
