Eric, Good quality wide angle lenses always tend to be pricey. The DA21/3.2 Limited was my go-to wide when I was shooting with Pentax gear, can't recommend it enough, but it is fairly expensive. The other wide I liked a lot was the DA14/2.8. I'd pick up one of the DA kit zooms as a temporary

I second the 12-24. It’s an excellent lens. The DA 16-45/4 is also a very good lens optically, although the build quality leaves something to be desired. But it’s usually available at bargain prices. I used one for quite some time with considerable success before selling it for about $250.
