My wife and I went to the Paul Strand exhibition at the Philly Art
Museum yesterday. It is excellent: all phases of his career (most of
which I was unaware of) are well represented, including a few motion
pictures.
If you are in striking distance of Philly, make a trip. It runs through Sunday.
Now here's something unusual for you. These are shots of a root parasite,
Hydnora Africana, which flowers every year in the rainy season. The usual
host is a member of the Euphorbia family but this one is oddly parasitizing
an Acacia (Knoppiesdoring). The pollinating agents are dungbeetles as
