Jack, I was just saying the look like ice plant to me.. although I also googled and found (somewhere that I've lost now) a photo that looked like yours and mentioned both common names in the description... Guess it is best to always use botanical names for these things when they are known.

No Ann they are definitely African Daises. Ice plant has extremely heavy succulent foliage, much of which is a very light shade of green. Ice Plant grows brilliant perfusion along the CA coast in spring and summer. Google will confirm. Thanks for commenting, Ann. Jack - Original Message
