Hi John -
There's an HDR layer in the mix in that image, just to open up the
shadows a bit. I almost always run things through Photomatix with the
settings dialed back just enough to open up the shadows and enhance
local contrast a little. That is usually one of the first layers that I
blend
Has anyone done research for a good, and relatively inexpensive solar
photography filter? I'd probably want 82mm for the bigma.

I had this camera set up on a tripod shooting with an interval timer.
Unfortunately it turns out that 2 second exposures every 2 seconds meant
only a 50% duty
