Each of the moon images is loaded as a layer in Photoshop.
Each layer has a linked Levels adjustment layer, masked so that the Levels
adjustment only applies to the moon in that layer.
An interesting photo with all the geometry going on here, almost in defiance of
the subject.

That's a very credible job on a really tough exposure. You've got
tremendous dynamic range between the black feathers and the bright
background, plus the really saturated blue wants to clip the blue
channel far too readily. All of that on top of just getting a clear
shot of a critter.
