Lots of fine stuff in here to browse. Thanks for curating it, Brian!
I'm particularly drawn to Mark's Walk. The visual echo and the overall
simplicity works for me.
The simplicity in Rick's Steps also does it for me.
Bulent and Dan: thanks. Appreciated!

Fun stuff. Saw this set a couple of years ago. If its photoshop work, it’s very
good. Some might be staged. They’re all a bit too perfect and share some
characteristics that suggest they were ll done by the same person. But I
enjoyed them anyway.

I still have a rotary-dial phone (a Princess), a pulse-dial phone, and a
touch-tone phone. I use the last of those in the shop with a central
office

After three service calls in two
When my neighborhood was finally wired for real fiber, I canned my
copper-pair landline and moved entirely to VoIP. Through the magic of
number portability I kept my ages old phone number as the primary VoIP
number.
It's all very amazing now, with multiple simultaneous calls in and
out,

clear and the brown stuff is iron oxide from dissolved iron in
percolation water.

650lumens is quite low. A 50W LED array produces 3000. That would be too
bright
I was able to keep my old phone number which was precious because of
things it is connected to and it starts with 212
:-)

Oh well..
The only person I have close by who could possibly help with this is
locked down upstate for now. And I'm still not allowing anyone in my
apartment anyway.

John the line inside the building is probably still fine.. but the lines
buried under 7th street met with several unfortunate events - Sandy, a
couple of water main breaks, transformer fires, etc. - happily, while I
went months without the line I got full refunds and then some from
Verizon -
I have a rotary dial payphone in the basement. I’ll try to get a pic of it
later today.

Do you have a photo/description of the old bulb? Shouldn't be too hard to make
a bespoke LED replacement. Probably cheaper than a "vintage" lamp as well.
