It's still too early to raise and release Monarchs, so I started first with a small group of Painted Lady caterpillars. Five of the six emerged from their chrysalises today, and I released them this evening. Documenting the releases was a bit tricky, as I had to hold the camera with one hand

Went for an hours walk around the Winterthur Estate ( ex DuPont Mansion, now a museum). The estate is 900 acres with it's own zip code, fire station, post office, train station (now a residence)and obsolete sawmill and quarry. The main house is 175 rooms and the cottage (about a 100 meters
