C.R.I.S. charged me $230.00 a year ago to replace the motor in my DA* 50-135.
Time was immaterial as I dropped it off on my two month trip around the west.
They shipped it to me once I returned. They did not have the camera, it was in
use.

The worst offenders are the NCIS and Law Order series. To me it's not the
shutter sound that grates, it's the motor drive film advance that drives me
nuts (except for the older reruns).

The iPad can be configured with one or more of Apple's dongles for SD cards.
There is also a device that will allow you to power the iPad with a USB
