Two quick points:
Cost. Pure and simple the cost of film purchase and development makes
digital capture right for 90%+ of my photography.
E6 - I've always seen this as a different animal. Whilst it is available, it
is an 'as well as'.

Well, the test got through so here is a picture I took last Sunday. This is
the first time I've taken a picture for the enjoyment of just being out with
a camera for some considerable time and I had great fun.
The discussion on the K-7 has been fascinating.

If the Nikon software is not compatible with Vista you can replace it
with VueScan which will support the Coolscan IV under Vista.
The Coolscan IV does as much as I need at a far lesser price, and that would
be ideal.

The Nikon Coolscan IV ED... I found one used about two years ago for
around $235 and have been using it since. Excellent scanner. It
connects to your system with a USB 2.0 interface.
